Intelligent Conversation

Last week Mia asked me the dreaded question.

Mia: Mom, where do babies come out of the mommy? Do they cut your tummy open?

Me: Sometimes they have to, but most of the time the baby comes out of the mommy's private part.

She was totally cool with the answer, as I knew she would be. That's why I told her more than I've ever told my boys. She thought about it and we talked a little bit about it and that was it. Until today.

Mia: Noah, did you know that babies come out of their mom's private part?

Noah: Nuh uh.

Mia: Yes huh. Even ask Mom.

Noah: Mom, that's not true, huh?

Me: Yes, Noah. That's true.

Noah: No it's not. How comes some mommies get their bellies cut open then?

Me: Sometimes if there is a problem they have to cut the mommy's tummy open to get the baby out fast and then they sew it up after the baby is out.

Noah: You mean with stitches?

Me: Yes.

Noah is in DEEP thought now for a few minutes.

Noah: Which private part does the baby come out of? Number one, or number two?

Mia: Number one, silly!

Me: LOL

Poor Noah. I really wouldn't have given him that much information at this age, because I'm sure it grossed him out. Since his sister chose to inform him though, there wasn't much I could do. Oh, the joys of having older children this time around!

Baby's First Hiccups- February 8th

So it's been a few weeks, but I wanted to record the date of the baby's first hiccups. That ALWAYS makes me smile. I love the feeling of movement inside of me, especially at this point in the game. I'm a little tired and sore, but mostly loving it right now!

Kirt probably would tell you otherwise because he only sees me at the end of every day when I'm tired, my feet hurt and I'm a little cranky. He really great at back and foot massages though and he treats me really well.

Today I am almost 27 weeks. I can't believe I'm already at the point of going to the Dr. every 2 weeks! Crazy and fun. I'm getting excited. :)
